On the afternoon of February 8, Russian troops shelled the city of Avdiyivka in the Donetsk region twice, as a result of which an elderly woman was killed and the houses of civilians were damaged.
A 72-year-old woman died, 2 houses were damaged.
More than 900 residents still remain in Avdiivka.
The CITY remains the main target of the occupiers now, so their attacks continue in the south-eastern part, where there are street fights. In addition, the enemy increased the number of KAB strikes on the city.
What is KAB and how does it work?
A guided aerial bomb (ABM) is one of the types of aviation munitions. It is an aerial bomb equipped with aerodynamic surfaces and a guidance system to improve accuracy. After the creation of KABs, old aviation bombs began to be called unguided or “dumb” bombs. A guided aerial bomb combines the accuracy of hitting and the power of the warhead. It is classified as a high-precision weapon.
Aviation bombs are dropped from the aircraft, they are separated from the holders with a small speed of forced separation or under the influence of gravity. The range depends on the parameters of the carrier (speed and height). The higher and faster the plane drops the KAB, the further the bomb will fly.
